Make Anything From a Rice Krispies Treat

I am always amazed by the incredible and elaborate birthday cakes people make, but I know I never have the dexterity or patience to do it myself. But the book Treat Yourself makes you think anything is possible - if you work with Rice Krispies treats instead.

In Jessica Siskin's new book she details all the various shapes you can make with the simple cereal and marshmallow combo. From cake to hamburgers she has made decoration seem simple and inviting. We sat down with Siskin to chat about the book and get her very meta recipe for an avocado toast Rice Krispies treat.

Avocado Toast Rice Krispies Treat

Ingredients
4 tbsp butter
5.5 cups mini marshmallows
8 cups Rice Krispies
Brown food coloring
White food coloring
1 can white icing
Green food coloring (I used avocado and leaf green, as well as a little yellow)
Assorted sprinkles
Cooking spray

Melt 3 tbsp butter, add 4 cups mini marshmallows and allow to melt a bit before adding 2 drops brown and 2 drops white food coloring.  When marshmallows are about 80% melted, turn off heat and add 6 cups of cereal and stir until mixed.  Coat hands with cooking spray, and pour mixture onto serving surface, molding it into a bread slice shape.

Coat hands with cooking spray, and using a small amount at a time, line the bread slice to form a crust Add 2 drops green food coloring to white canned icing and mix until blended, adding more food coloring as needed.  Using an offset spatula, spread green icing in the center of the toast slice and top with sprinkles. Usea knife to cut a shallow line diagonally across toast slice
